Trip Plan
- Your adventure begins in Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” After breakfast, you’ll head to the famous Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages. Explore its narrow alleys, ancient clay buildings, and stunning views that have appeared in many films and TV series.
Continue your journey through the Skoura oasis and the Valley of Roses, famous for its rosewater distilleries and scenic landscapes. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Boumalne Dades, located at the edge of the dramatic Dades Gorges, where you’ll spend the night in a charming guesthouse overlooking the valley.
After breakfast, travel through the Dades Valley toward Tinghir, a beautiful town surrounded by palm groves and Berber villages. You’ll visit the breathtaking Todra Gorges, where massive rock walls rise up to 300 meters high — a paradise for hikers and photographers.
Then continue through Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops and date markets, before reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. In the evening, you’ll ride camels across the golden dunes to your desert camp, where you’ll enjoy dinner, Berber music under the stars, and an unforgettable night in the Sahara.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, a magical moment as the desert glows in shades of gold and orange. After breakfast at the camp, explore the area around Merzouga — visit nomadic families, local villages like Khamlia (known for its Gnawa music), and the seasonal Dayet Srij Lake, where flamingos can sometimes be seen.
After breakfast, depart from Merzouga and drive through the Alnif and Nkob regions, crossing the striking Draa Valley, known for its endless palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Enjoy the scenic desert landscapes and small Berber villages along the way.
