Your journey begins from the vibrant city of Marrakech, crossing the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains through the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Along the way, you’ll pass traditional Berber villages perched on hillsides before arriving at the legendary Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a famous backdrop for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring the kasbah’s ancient alleys, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah or relax at your riad before dinner.
After breakfast, the road leads south through Agdz and the lush Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s longest valleys lined with thousands of date palms, oases, and fortified villages. Enjoy scenic stops and cultural encounters along the way before reaching Zagora, the gateway to the Sahara. Here, your camel caravan awaits to take you across the soft dunes at sunset. As the day fades, settle into your Berber desert camp, savor a traditional dinner, and enjoy live drumming under a magnificent starlit sky.
Wake early to witness the magical sunrise over the desert dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. On the way back, visit the village of Tamgroute, famous for its ancient Quranic library and unique green pottery workshops.
